The world-famous Chocolate Hills, is located in the town on Carmen Bohol Philippines.
The town of Carmen may have that small town appeal, but people from all over the globe visit this small town everyday to see the Chocolate Hills, one of the natural world wonders. The municipality of Carmen is roughly located in the middle of Bohol in the geographical map. It is approximately around 55 kilometers from Tagbilaran City, the capital of Bohol. Carmen is composed of 29 barangays with population more than 40,000.

People and the Language
Local people in Carmen are known as Carmenanons.
Like other parts of Bohol, the most common spoken languages that Carmenanons use daily is the Bisaya or Cebuano dialect. Most tourists and visitors, who do not speak and undesstand the Bisaya or Cebuano language will usually have no problem going around Carmen, or in many parts of Bohol, because most Carmenanons where taught the universal English language in elementary and high schools days, where they learn to read, write and speak the English language.
Carmen Bohol attracts a lot of both domestic and international tourists every year because of the Chocolate Hills, one of the most popular destination in Bohol just like Panglao Beach.
But aside from the Chocolate Hills, people also go there during the Town Fiesta every January where food is abundant in every home and there are parades, programs, contests and dances. Also popular destination in Carmen is the Fatima Rosary Hill where the Virgin Mary Statue located on top of the hill is placed. Carmen also have springs, caves, falls and the Philippine Starch Industrial Corporation. Read more about all the attractions and landmarks in Carmen Bohol, click here.

Carmen has gone a long way! When I studied high school at
Bohol Agricultural College, Carmen was only a sleeping town. Choco
Hills were there, but few people knew about it. I am so much happy that
because of technology breakthrough like the internet, choco hills is now
known all over the globe via the world wide web. By the way, I am from
Riverside, Bilar, Bohol but residing in Antipolo City and my work is at
the premier central business district in the philippines: Makati
My congratulations to all the people who are behind this great website!
