Getting There - Carmen Bohol
Since Carmen Bohol is located in the center of Bohol, there are several starting points to travel going to Carmen. Few of the popular starting points to travel to Carmen is Tagbilaran City and Tubigon Bohol. If you are travelling to Carmen via Tagbilaran City and do not have a private vehicle, you have the option to get a taxi (which you have to pay pre-negotiated special fare called pakyaw), or you can go to Intergrated Bus Termincal located in Dao Tagbilaran where there are several bus lines that offer routes to Carmen. Some of the routes passing directly in Carmen is Tagbilaran-Carmen-SierraBullones route, Tagbilaran-Carmen-Jagna route, while other bus route ends in Carmen. Carmen route is commonly called INTERIOR.
From Tagbilaran, you can take bus ride as early as 5 am and last trip is around 4 pm or possibly 5 pm. Around 5 to 6 pm it would be nearly impossible to get a passenger bus leaving for Carmen. If you are not familiar with the route or which bus to take, there are schedules and signs in the terminal, or you can always ask any bus driver, bus fare collector (called konduktor), they are mostly kind enough to help you. Travel time from Tagbialran to Carmen usually take around two (2) hours if you take the passenger bus because of the different stops along the way. Taking a direct non-stop trip to Carmen with private vehicle or a taxi, its possible to make the trip around more or less an hour. If you are staying in a hotel, you can always make taxi and special trip arrangement with the hotel for a fee.
From Tubigon Bohol, you can also take the passenger bus with route directly to Carmen. Be sure to know or ask the bus schedules going to Carmen because most bus have time slots when they leave. If you have a hard time getting a bus going to Carmen, you may also have the option to take Tubigon-Tagbilaran route and then transfer to another bus Tagbilaran-Carmen route. Travel time from Tubigon to Carmen
is roughly around one hour or more. Some passenger bus makes frequent stops, it will take two (2) hours to arrive Carmen.
